The tramway museum in Trondheim is seasonally open and our planned opening hours in 2026 are:
Wednesday-Sunday 12.00-15.00
20.06-16-08
And Sunday 23/8 and 30/8
The museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays

Volunteer effort
Tram nr.6 have this Autum got the compressor replaced and the picture shows a successful test drive which was carried out 16.12.2025.
Smoke detector system
The UNI foundation gave us financial support for installation of a smoke detector system. The installation of the system was begun this Autum
Tram nr.14
Our biggest project in 2025 have been tram nr.14. It is now placed right inside the main entrance at Teknostallen which is an old tram depo that has been rebuilt into office space. We refitted the tram with the original benches and new tables.
The museum
The floor in the museum hadn’t been painted since 1995. After the museum closed for the season, the floors were painted.
Donations and memberships
Sporveishistorisk forening is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1979. The purpose of the organization is to preserve and convey the tram history of Trondheim.
Membership
Everyone who wishes can become a member of our tramway society. We offer member meetings, member trips and a chance to participate in volunteer work. The current annual prices for membership are 400,- NOK with the membership magazine and 200,- NOK without the membership magazine.
Donations
We gladly accept donations to our museum collection. Just use our contact form if you have something that might be off interest.
We are also working on digitizing letters, papers, photos etc. so there is possible to lend us papers, photos etc and get them returned to you when we have scanned them.

We offer parking for cars, bicycles and prams
If you travel by public transport, it is Munkvoll station if you arrive by tram. You can use the bus stop Byåsen skole or Arnt Smistads veg if you travel by bus.
